Hans-Christian Meister
Visionary with his feet on the ground
Managing Director of Gustav Meister GmbH from 1978 to 2005, Hans-Christian Meister has deftly dovetailed his work in with that of his father by working on the expansion of the product range and investing in modernisations.
In 1984, for example, Hans-Christian Meister set up new manufacturing plants through the purchase of industrial land with factory buildings. He also equipped the company with the latest technology for the future.
In 1991, Hans-Christian Meister purchased another industrial establishment, Meister-Kunststoffe GmbH in Paderborn. This plant makes plastic components for furniture and suitcases as well as plastic sieves and spray nozzles.
But even in the “old” firm, he introduced new ideas that enabled the company to make significant progress in terms of competition: achieving certification in accordance with international standard DIN EN ISO 9002 in 1996 was a huge step forwards, creating a Quality Management System based on the latest information technology and optimising the work processes of the company as a whole.
Hans-Christian Meister was also instrumental in the continual development of the patented sieve stacking system, so that today it is one of the most advanced systems of its kind. Once more, he was able to realise his vision, while keeping his feet on the ground, and to turn these values into practical advantage for the company.
The Meister’s flair for sending out the right signals in lacklustre times was again evident in the decision made by Hans-Christian Meister and his son Manfred in 2003. With the constant expansion of the company demanding new premises, he provided the city’s skyscape with a futuristic new building that looks freely ahead.
